Bandai Japan Snags Star Wars License

Everybody is going Star Wars crazy. First we have the ever so popular Star Wars Black Series 6-inch figures, then we have Episode 7 on the horizon and now we have Bandai Japan going intergalactic. At the Tokyo Toy Show, Bandai revealed their offerings for the franchise. While there was a whole gang of toys to tickle any Star Wars fan, 3 figures stood out the most for us. Those were S.H. Figuarts Darth Vader, Stormtrooper and a Movie Realization Samurai Darth Vader Statue.

Even though we have Hasbro bringing some solid releases for Darth Vader and Stormtrooper you’ve got to hand it to Bandai these figure’s look great. There’s no word on wether these figures will ever get a North American release but if they do let’s just hope the pricing stays competitive with black series figures. If that happens Hasbro has some serious competition once the line expands with more characters. S.H. Figuarts Boba Fett anyone?

Here’s a list of all of the figure at the show:

1/12 Scale Darth Vader Model Kit
Star Wars Picture Mini Bust Collection
Movie Realization Samurai Darth Vader Statue
1/72 Scale A New Hope X-Wing Model Kit
1/48 Scale X-Wing
SH Figuarts Darth Vader
SH Figuarts Stormtrooper
1/12 Scale Model Kit – C-3PO
Darh Vader and Stormtrooper Converge Minifigures
Star Destroyer
Death Star Space Warp
Transforming Egg Figures

Looks like more brands will be jumping on the Star Wars franchise. Tomopop is reporting brands like TakaraTomy, Square-Enix, SEGA, Good Smile Company and Kaiyodo will be joining Bandai with merchandise offerings in Asia.
