Cowboy Bebop Spike Spiegel by Original Sculptor Tomohide Enoki

Cowboy Bebop has been high on my list as one of the best anime series ever released for a while now. It’s odd that for such a hit series they haven’t released that many action figures for it.  Out of the limited selection, we were able to get our hands on a Spike Spiegel action figure by Kaiyodo Toys. As you can see from the title, the figure was sculpted by Tomohide Enoki. Before picking up the figure, I just assumed it was a non-articulated statue of Spike. To my surprise, this figure actually comes with a couple points of articulation: His head, arms and elbows all rotate.

I really like the way his right arm moves especially. To mimic the motion of him pointing a gun, his right arm goes up and out. I’ve never really seen a figure articulate in that motion, so seeing it for first time made it something special. As far as any other articulation, don’t expect any leg movment. You just won’t see it happening with this figure. For heavy articulated figure fans, this may not be for you, but if you can appreciate the figure beyond it’s articulation, it’s a great figure to have. Personally, I love it. From his beautifully crafted look to his angled stance makes it a great piece to put on your desk or shelve. Spike also comes with a nicely sculpted brick stand with a little red rose attached to it.
