Jakks Pacific Dragonball GT Super Saiyan 4/SS4 Vegeta

I remember being such a huge Dragonball Z fan growing up. In the late 90’s I would run home from school to catch Dragonball Z on Toonami, which came on at 5. Tired of watching the same episodes and waiting for Toonami to air new english dubbed episodes, I started to stream subs on the internet. I also would spend my time searching the web for pictures of Dragonball Z characters so I could copy and draw. Using Akira Toriyama’s character design style as a reference, I made my own characters and comics. I think Dragonball Z was one of the best cartoons ever made.

I got my first taste of the Dragonball GT series from watching the subbed versions. After being such a Dragonball Z fan, I didn’t enjoy the series at all. I don’t know what, but it felt like something was missing. One thing that I did like about the series was Goku and Vegeta transforming into their Super Saiyan 4 forms. In my opinion, that was the best thing that Dragonball GT had to offer. However, maybe those transformations are what made the series lack something.

I can go on forever about the series, so let’s move onto the figure. This figure was produced by Jakks Pacific in 2004. They released two different versions of the figure. One with Vegeta packaged together with Super Saiyan 4 Goku and the other Vegeta was packaged alone. The figure we had was the latter.

This figure features some pretty good detailing in his hair, fur, gloves, pants, and boots. When you pick the figure up, it’s not as light as you might suspect. The added detailing and weight gives him more of a premium look and feel. The heavier figures that Jakks made for the Dragonball GT series are a plus in my book.

His head, shoulders, legs, knees, and ankles all articulate. However, he’s still a bit stiff. He doesn’t feel like a figure you can bend and move to much. I suspect if you move the figure around often the joints will get loose pretty fast. Overall, I like this figure andI think it’s one of the best looking figures Jakks made from the Dragonball GT series. Even better looking then the Super Saiyan 4 Goku figure.

If you come across one of these Jakks Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta, which you might not since he’s pretty rare, I suggest you pick it up.
